Summary
The Nuggets have won their first game on the road defeating the Taranaki Airs by 18 points in a dominant display.
Nuggets came out firing, opening the game on a 15-0 run, led by a sharp-shooting Todd Withers who shot 16 points including four threes at 100% from the field.
In their highest scoring quarter this season, Otago held their opposition to just 11 points in the first, stacking on a margin that the Airs struggled to dent.
While Taranaki fought back cutting the margin to just 10 points in the third quarter, Nuggets maintained intensity at both ends of the court to ensure the Airs never got closer than that.
Armon Fletcher was strong for the home team with 20 points.
Todd Withers was dominant, putting up a career-high 31 points including 7 3PM.
JaQuori McLaughlin was in control with 15 points and 9 assists.
Michael Harris had his best outing for the club to date, scoring a career-high 18 points.
Sam Timmins was his usual dominant self, recording his third straight double-double to open the season with 18 points and 11 rebounds.
